German architects have come up with a novel solution to parking problems in Europe’s overcrowded cities — a new line in luxury apartments that allows owners to park upstairs, on their balconies. Eleven CarLoft apartments are being built in Berlin, with more in the pipeline for other leading cities in Europe. The apartments have open-plan interiors and all feature a garden and a garage — facilities that flat-dwellers usually have to forgo.
